Summer_Cocktails

I’ve combed through the internet for my favorite summer cocktail recipes. It was hard to narrow it down, but I’m bringing you my top five to try out. I love that the days are getting longer and the nights are getting warmer. This collection of drinks will take you from day to evening. And yes, I’m a strong believer in day drinking! šŸ™‚ So let’s jump into it!

Pineapple Mint Prosecco Punch

1.) Pineapple Mint Prosecco Punch

This drink works well as a brunch cocktail with girlfriends. It’s light and refreshing with a little bubbly. Similar to the classic mimosa, this drink has pineapple, mint and citrus flavors. To put this drink together you’ll need the following:

  • A bottle of Prosecco
  • Pineapple juice
  • Fresh orange (for garnish and juice)
  • Fresh lemon (for garnish and juice)
  • Sprigs of fresh mint
  • Fresh pineapple chunks

Serve chilled in a mason jar or stemless wine glasses.

Fresh Strawberry Mojitos

2.) Fresh Strawberry Mojito

I love mojitos. They became really popular a few years ago. The mint flavor is so refreshing to me. It’s a surefire staple of summertime. To put this drink together you’ll need the following:

  • Large strawberries, sliced
  • Mint
  • Agave
  • Lime juice
  • Bacardi Silver Rum
  • Club Soda

Pour over ice and serve in a Highball or Collins glass.

Moscow Mule

3.) Moscow Mule

This drink is so simple and so good. I remember one summer it was so popular everyone was buying their signature hammered copper mugs. This cocktail is perfect for backyard gatherings or an after work wind-down. To put this drink together you’ll need the following:

  • 1/2 oz. Fresh line juice
  • 2 oz. Vodka
  • 4 oz. Ginger beer

Pour over ice and serve in a Collins glass or copper mug. Slice the remaining line for garnish.

White Peach Sangria

4.) White Peach Sangria

Normally I’m a red wine drinker, but when the weather is hot I want to drink something cool. This white peach sangria fits the bill. Even though it’s tempting to drink this one right away, it’s better if you let it sit for a few hours or even overnight. That will allow the fruit to seep into the alcohol. To put this drink together you’ll need the following:

  • Brandy
  • Sugar
  • White wine
  • Lemon juice
  • Fresh peaches
  • Fresh lemons
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries

Mix in a large pitcher with ice. Let chill and serve in a stemless wine glass.

Caipirinha with lime

5.) Caipirinha

I saved the best for last! One of my co-workers turned me on to this one. Caipirinha is Brazil’s national cocktail made with cachaƧa rum, sugar and lime. I rarely see this one on the menu, but when I do, believe me I’m ordering it! To put this drink together you’ll need the following:

  • Fresh limes (for garnish and juice)
  • Sugar
  • CachaƧa rum
  • Crushed ice

Serve in a Lowball or Old Fashioned glass with a sugar rim and line garnish.
